You can expect the vivid, kitsch-looking appeal of purple review cake to be taking over your Instagram this year — Romulo Cafe's ube cheesecake's one that actually deserves the airtime and stomach space, though, with that sweet-but-earthy butchness you get from root veg desserts.
Maybe in the future London will have a trio of Romulo outposts, to match Manila. For now, we're pleased this one's dropped anchor in Kensington. I was expecting traditionally cooked Filipino dishes thinking they were aiming for that with the old photos of Carlos P. Romulo, instead what I tasted was the modernized version. I think this is a nice place to romulo foreign guests because of the nice place and the more palette friendly taste. Like this post?

Great review. So far. Considering the cleanliness, friendliness of staff, service, and foods, I rate my dining experience very good. I will recommend the place to my friends. I will definitely visit the restaurant again. Anton, saying Romulo Cafe is Cafe Juanita by day is doing injustice to one of the restaurants.
Considering the attentiveness of the staff, neatness of the staff, friendliness, service, foods, beverages, cleanliness, and ambiance, I prefer Romulo Cafe. Your email address will not be published.

The dish is served in a sizzling, cast iron pan filled with diced chicken thighs marinated in annatto, ginger, green chilli, garlic, and lemongrass. The moment I took my first bite, I fell completely in love. We followed with little home-made Filipino buns of goodness, filled with juicy, slow-cooked British beef rib, a caramelised honey chilli onion glaze and Queso romulo Bola cafe.
During our second visit, my brother was the one who ordered, and this time I loved it! I think one of my favorite dishes is chicken relleno. I forgot the other dishes we ordered. But i can remember for sure was we left the restaurant feeling very satisfied. Had a business lunch here recently and was very very satisfied; will definitely make the trip back with my family even if I do live over an hour away.
The ambience is wonderful. Clean and understated elegance in white and black, but not intimidating. The name comes from a famous Philippine statesman, Carlos P. The place is run by a grand daughter and large evocative black and white photos review the great man are displayed throughout the building, which is an old house.
Cafe me, the most moving is a powerful speech he wrote that is displayed on the wall of the staircase. Food is excellent. We tried the bangus pate and fried tinapa spring rolls served with lettuce leaves for appetizers. This set the tone for very delicious twists on well loved Filipino favorites. Book online. Time Out says 4 out of 5 stars. Sisig and romulo, kare-kare and lechon kawali. The result? An elegant, delicately-balanced homage to the Spanish-American-Chinese-Malay roots of a unique cuisine. Filipino-style cakes and desserts are created in-house and available to order.

Set in the beautifully restored old house, decorated predominantly in black and whites and adorned with old photos of Carlos P. Romulo all around. G arrived first and ordered a couple of appetizers before we got there. Pinoy Nachos P Sweet Potato and Taro chips drizzled with white cheese, quezo de bola and tomatoes. We all like this one but had a little complaint that the chips at the bottom did not get any sauce at all since all of the sauce was drizzled on the top and side.|

This restaurant is a brainchild of one of Carlos P. There are a lot of name dropping in the menu to acknowledge the source of the recipes and most of the Filipino dishes are familiar but served with a pleasant twist. The food is Filipino taken to the next level — it is not fusion which is a bit baduy concept already in the Foodie circles.|
